Heidi Albin, a Milken Educator and national PAEMST awardee, is known for her ability to make content relevant to life and for developing unique, multifaceted, engaging lessons. Heidi currently serves as the Learning Design Manager for Generation Esports, where she writes curriculum and manages professional development trainings. Heidi served as a science teacher and the Character Education Coordinator at an alternative high school for 11 years, teaching Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physical Science, Agriculture, Health, Career Skills, and Character Education. Heidi then spent three years teaching in the traditional school setting. After helping her school receive recognition as a Character.org State and National School of Character, Heidi coauthored "186 Days of Character," a yearlong, free curriculum which was recognized by the State of Kansas as official character education curriculum. She implemented a facility therapy dog program, established her school as a KACEE Green School of the Year, and created a handicap accessible community garden. Heidi’s passion for teaching reaches to other educators. As a member of a national 100k in 10 project team, she helped to improve teacher preparation around the county. As a master angler with Fishing's Future and a board of directors’ member for WILD KS, Heidi wrote and implemented curriculum for fishing, wilderness survival, and camping, as well as many other unique science courses. Heidi has freely shared her resources with hundreds of educators by presenting at a multitude of conferences. Heidi earned a B.S. in cellular molecular biology, cum laude, and M.S. in secondary education from Fort Hays State University with certifications in biology, chemistry, agriculture, and earth and space science.
