Lourdes M. Zegrí-Prieto, best known as Teacher Luli, has been a mathematics teacher at Academia San Ignacio de Loyola for 22 years. During her tenure, she has taught fifth and sixth grade mathematics, but exclusively sixth grade most recently. Lourdes has spent her entire teaching career at Academia San Ignacio. In 2012, Lourdes organized and hosted an intercollegiate mathematics competition for sixth grade students and invited several neighboring schools. She also holds a yearly Math Bee for fourth to sixth grade students during her school's Math Week. As a sixth grade homeroom teacher, Lourdes coordinates the sixth grade graduation and class activities every May. Teaching mathematics was always Lourdes' dream and fostering a love of mathematics and connecting it to her students' daily lives is her goal each school year. Lourdes has a B.A., magna cum laude, in elementary education from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. She is a certified fourth to sixth grade mathematics teacher.
