Brittney Stewart has spent all 15 years of her career in mathematics education at Caesar Rodney High School and recently became its Achievement Liaison Teacher. Throughout her tenure, she has instructed students across grades 9-12, covering subjects including Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Statistics/Advanced Placement. Beyond the confines of the classroom, Brittney's passion for teaching manifests in various leadership roles. Her influence extends to her colleagues, as evidenced by her spearheading of schoolwide initiatives focused on fostering, nurturing, and repairing student-teacher relationships. Additionally, her expertise has been sought on a districtwide scale for training sessions centered around fostering mathematical discourse, and she has contributed to statewide efforts by facilitating training sessions on formative feedback strategies. Brittney's innovative teaching approach is characterized by her utilization of vertical spaces for group work, a method that both encourages visibility and sharing of students' work and fosters collaboration and mutual support among peers. Her dedication to sharing effective instructional strategies led her to create an Instagram page where she regularly disseminates her favorite methodologies to fellow educators. Driven by her belief that every student can excel in mathematics and deserves nothing less than the best instruction, Brittney is pursuing certification in administrative leadership through the University of Delaware. Her ultimate goal is to transition into a role as a math coach, where she can play a pivotal role in shaping the future generation of exceptional educators. Brittney holds a B.S. in education in mathematics from West Chester University and a Master of Instruction from the University of Delaware.
