Samantha Stickley, a seasoned seventh grade science teacher at San Marcos Middle School, boasts 16 years of experience in education. She began her teaching career with six years at Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School, followed by three years at Alexander Fleming Middle School, before arriving at San Marcos Middle School where she has been teaching for seven years. In addition to her classroom duties, Samantha serves as the Department Chair and as a mentor teacher, fostering collaboration and excellence among her colleagues. Her leadership extends beyond her school, contributing as a teacher leader with the University of California San Diego Science Project, an Exploratorium Teacher Institute leader fellow, and an OpenSciEd facilitator. Samantha prioritizes equitable science education, striving to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Her dedication to fair grading practices ensures all students have access to quality education regardless of background. Recognized for her contributions, Samantha has received accolades from local and state educational bodies. She's been featured on podcasts like California Educators Together and STEM#4Real and recently presented at the National Science Teaching Association conference in Denver, focusing on collaborative science discussions.
