Tiffany Evans has taught at Southeast Whitfield High School for the past three years. She currently teaches 11th grade Advanced Algebra and 10th grade Geometry and has also taught Algebra 1. She spent the previous nine years teaching eighth grade mathematics and science at Eastbrook Middle School. Tiffany plans engaging lessons to help students achieve confidence in the classroom. She works to make mathematics relevant and uses innovative strategies to engage her students. She aims to encourage students to collaborate with their peers in order to solve problems, explain their reasoning, and critique solutions. Tiffany’s love of teaching extends beyond the classroom. She planned a “Tour of Georgia” field trip where eighth grade students explored nine cities throughout the state of Georgia and participated in activities throughout the trip, such as investigating the Okefenokee Swamp. Tiffany has served as a member of the Georgia Mathematics Advisory Council for the past four years. She has served on many committees for the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and has presented twice at the GaDOE MathCon conference. Tiffany has also served as a virtual specialist for eighth grade, where she created asynchronous professional development opportunities as well as presented live sessions to teachers across the state of Georgia. Tiffany earned a B.S.Ed. in middle school education from the University of Georgia. She earned her M.A. in middle school mathematics education and Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College. She is certified in K-12 mathematics and gifted education and in fourth through eighth grade science and social studies education.
