To me, the Presidential Award shows our nation’s commitment to developing thoughtful, confident, and curious students of mathematics and science. Learning about the work of my co-nominees inspires me and shows me that in every corner of the U.S. teachers are dedicated to helping students see mathematics and science as an accessible, elegant, and crucial way to understand and improve our world. Moving forward, this award is a challenge for us to work to make STEM inclusive and welcoming for all!
