Lori Baryenbruch has been a fifth grade teacher for 26 years at River Valley Elementary Spring Green.  Lori shares her passion for science with her students through a multi-disciplinary, hands-on, project-based learning approach. Students are engaged and challenged to think like real-world scientists or engineers solving real-world problems in collaborative teams.    Lori's enthusiasm for science energizes her participation in science-related professional development, including the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy; Engineering is Elementary Professional Development Facilitator Workshop; Southwest Wisconsin Science Standards and Engineering Practices Project; and the Next Generation Science Standards Training.  She enjoys sharing her knowledge of STEM with her colleagues.   Lori has been a mentor teacher for new teachers as well as a cooperating teacher through the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Her leadership skills can also be seen through her role as Administrative Building Coordinator.   Lori has a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a M.S. in middle school education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She is certified as a professional educator in first through eighth grade elementary/middle level education, and as a first through ninth grade science and professional development plan team member.
