Loni Miller has been an educator for the past nine years, and has most recently taught mathematics, science, and language arts methods courses at the University of Mary. Previously, Loni taught Title I reading and second grade at Overland Elementary School, and third grade at Saxvik Elementary School. Loni animates student learning through connecting standards to real-world experiences. She often invites experts into her classroom to inspire her students to understand why they are learning specific skills. Loni’s classroom is engaging and full of movement. Students are often seen dancing in the classroom to act out the skills they are learning. Loni has served on the Advisory Board for the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board. She earned her B.S. in elementary education from the University of Mary and a master’s in special education from Bemidji State University.
