Jonathan “Jon” Bergmann is one of the pioneers of the Flipped Classroom Movement. He is leading the worldwide adoption of Flipped Learning through the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI). He is working with governments, schools, corporations, and education non-profits to bring active learning to the world. Jon is the author of ten books, including the bestselling book, “Flip Your Classroom,” which has been translated into 13 languages. He spent 24 years as a middle and high school science teacher then two years as a district technology facilitator. Jon hosts a radio show, The Flip Side, and also has a popular YouTube Channel with almost four million views. In 2002, Jon received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and in 2010, he was named Semi-Finalist for Colorado Teacher of the Year. He serves on the advisory board for TED-Education. He received his Presidential Award while teaching science at Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Colorado. He currently is teaching science and leading staff development at Houston Christian High School in Houston, Texas. Jon holds a master’s degree in educational technology from the University of Colorado at Denver and is certified to teach both science and technology in Texas. He was one of the first Colorado science teachers to become Nationally Board Certified in Secondary Science.
