Timothy Dalby is the Lower School Science Specialist and Coordinator at Wilmington Friends School, a position he has held since 2006. Prevoiusly, he spent 7 years as a middle school science teacher at Stanton Middle School.   As the Lower School Science Specialist, Tim is responsible for the school’s science curriculum. He engages students in prekindergarten through fourth grade in hands-on science and engineering investigations. While at Wilmington Friends School, he has collaborated with teachers to create integrated units such as Monarch Butterflies and Flight. Tim also developed the Wilmington Friends Lower School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Lab. This lab promotes creative problem solving and collaboration. Students utilize the open space and have access to materials to re-create and test solutions to real-world problems.     Tim has worked with the Delaware Science Coalition on assessment writing and curriculum revisions, and has presented various workshops. Nationally, Tim has developed a classroom curriculum and facilitated professional development for the Keystone Science School. He has also presented workshops for DuPont at the National Science Teachers Association convention.  Tim has a B.S., cum laude, in elementary education with science specialization and an M.Ed. in science curriculum and instruction, both from the University of Delaware.
