Amy Pace has been teaching for 11 years. For the 2008 - 2009 school year, she taught Chemistry, Advanced Placement Chemistry, and Physics at Desert Hills High School in St. George, UT. Previously, she taught Chemistry, Biology, Medical Anatomy and Physiology, Earth Systems, and Physics each year while at Wayne High School in Bicknell, UT.
Amy has served on State Test Item Writing teams, the State Textbook Adoption Committee, and the State Health Occupations Students of America Advisory Board. Each of these has given her the opportunity to meet teachers from across Utah; she has gained much from these associations, both professionally and personally. Amy has also been involved with the Utah Science Teachers Association for many years, serving two terms as regional representative and one term as president. She has worked on the planning committee for the yearly state conferences and for the regional national conference in 2006.
Amy has a B.S. in Biology from Southern Utah University, earned in 1998. She completed her teaching certificate later that year while working as the only science teacher at Wayne High School. She spent the next few summers obtaining endorsements in integrated science, physical science, principles of technology, health sciences, and medical anatomy and physiology.
