Page Keeley taught middle school science at the Whitefield School in Maine for 14 years. In 1996, she become the Science Program Director at the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA) where she was PI of three NSF grants and led several teacher leadership initiatives, including the Maine Governor's Academy for Science Education Leadership. She retired from MMSA in 2010 and now works as an author, speaker, and independent consultant for school districts and organizations throughout the U.S. and internationally to build capacity for formative assessment and teaching for conceptual understanding. Page is the author of 24 books, including the popular "Uncovering Student Ideas in Science" series. Page served as NSTA President from 2008-2009 and the National Science Education Leadership Association (NSELA) President from 2022-2023. Page has received several distinguished awards in addition to PAEMST in 1992, including the Milken Award (1993), the National Staff Development Council’s (now Learning Forward) Susan Loucks-Horsley Award for Leadership in Science and Mathematics Professional Development (2009), Outstanding Leadership in Science Education award from the National Science Education Leadership Association (NSELA) (2013), and in 2018, The Distinguished Service to Science Education Award from NSTA. Page has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Maine and was a Cohort 1 Fellow in the National Academy for Science and Mathematics Education Leadership. Prior to entering the teaching profession, Page was a research assistant in immunogenetics at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. She received her B.S. in life sciences/pre-veterinary studies from the University of New Hampshire and her M.Ed. in science education from the University of Maine.
