Holly Sullivan Lugoff, SC | 7-12, Science, 2011

Holly Sullivan has taught Advanced Placement Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Physics at Lugoff-Elgin High School for the past 10 years. Prior to that, she taught science at Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington, NC, and Dickinson High School in Dickinson, TX. Holly teaches from the heart, working diligently to ensure that all her students’ learning needs are met and that her students gain confidence as science learners. Technology is seamlessly integrated into most lessons by facilitating laptops and computer-based probes. Holly has been the District Induction Instructor for 2 years, supporting beginning teachers during their challenging first year. She served on the executive board of the South Carolina Science Council and helped organize the annual State science teacher conference for 5 years. Holly has also served as Science Department Chair at Lugoff-Elgin High School, helping her fellow science teachers bring the wonders of science to life. In 2007, Holly was honored as Kershaw County District Teacher of the Year. Holly has a B.S. in chemistry from North Carolina State University, an M.B.A. from East Carolina University, and an Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University. She is National Board Certified in adolescent/young adult science. She is a certified chemistry and physics teacher.
