I am truly grateful and honored to receive the Presidential Award in recognition of my passion in teaching science and my commitment to education. I deeply appreciate the support and encouragement from my family, administrators, colleagues, and students throughout my teaching profession. Receiving this prestigious award challenges me to continually reflect on my teaching and to learn new ways to become a more effective teacher in order to impact student learning in the classroom and beyond.

Wai Chin Ng has been a fifth grade teacher at the Josiah Quincy Elementary School for 18 years. Wai Chin always engages his students in inquiry-based science activities and innovative projects. For the past 5 years, he has coached a LEGO robotics team that participated in many local and state robotics competitions. He also collaborates with community partners such as the National Park Service and Tufts University in bringing valuable resources into his classroom. Wai Chin is a Science Teacher Leader and Science Education Fellow in Boston. He has facilitated numerous workshops for educators in areas including curriculum implementation, standardized assessment, and technology integration. As a member of the Massachusetts State Assessment Development Committee, Wai Chin works with other educators to review and approve test items for the State standardized science assessments. In addition, Wai Chin participates in ongoing professional development activities that foster professional growth and education leadership. Wai Chin has a B.A. in psychology and an Ed.M. in elementary education from Boston University. He is certified in elementary education, general science, and bilingual education. He is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
