The Presidential Award epitomizes the opportunity that education provides to students of all ages. It is representative of the dedicated teachers from whom I have learned and worked alongside my entire life. Their innovation and reflection helped pave the road before me. I am honored and humbled to be recognized in a profession President Obama called a profession of “nation builders.” I am thankful for the opportunity to influence the children and teachers who are our nation builders.
