Gregory “Greg” Snoke has been an educator for 22 years, spending the last 17 years teaching sixth grade mathematics, science, and literacy at Captain Samuel Douglass Academy. Previously, Greg spent five years as the sixth-grade mathematics teacher at Franklin Middle School. Learning while having fun though genuine inquiry, collaboration, communication, and collective problem solving are the tenets of a student’s experience in Greg’s classroom. Greg updated the time-honored Egg Drop by having all students engineer a K’NEX racer to compete in an annual Egg Dash & Crash gradewide event. He also modernized the sixth grade science fair, bringing 21st Century learning to the forefront in his annual science fair for engineering optimization. Students report these two events among the highlights of their time in school. The National Science Teachers Association selected Greg to present his science fair for engineering optimization at the 2019 National Conference on Science Education in St. Louis, MO. Greg also presented at Southern New Hampshire University’s fourth annual on-campus Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development Conference in April of 2019. Greg earned a B.S.Ed. in elementary education from Ohio University and a M.Ed. in mathematics education from Plymouth State University. He is a certified first through eighth grade elementary school teacher.
