Will Warren is in his 13th year of teaching science at Colchester High School. Previously, he taught Anger Management, Biology, Canoeing, Ziplines, and everything in between at an alternative youth corrections program in New York State. Currently, he teaches Advanced Placement (AP) Biology and two sections of sophomore Biology. As science department team leader, Will is leading a curricular review process to increase the deliberate connection between all science subjects. Making connections powers Will's practice. He brings experience as a parent, volunteer emergency medical technician, bike commuter, prolific reader, researcher, and musician into class to make the sciences real. The Forensic Science and Anatomy and Physiology courses he developed include regular input and visits from professionals in the community. Annually, his AP Biology students engage in internships with local experts, including veterinarians, nurses, and researchers. Since 2004, Will and teams of his students have presented on research they have conducted in conjunction with University of Vermont scientists. Will has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and an M.A.T. in Secondary Science Education from Tufts University. He is certified in high school science education in Vermont and New York.
