Rebecca Jones began her career as a special education teacher at Nutter Fort Elementary School and then transferred to Lumberport Middle School, where she has taught Science 8 for 23 years. Both schools are located in Harrison County, WV. Rebecca has written and cowritten several grants that have given her school $30,000 for programs to increase home-school communication, improve laboratory and technology equipment, and increase school and community health and fitness. She serves as Team Leader, department chair, Academic Coordinator, SnapGrades and Calendar Wiz Administrator, and Student of the Month Coordinator. She is a master mentor and handles the scheduling for the 475 students at her school. Rebecca works through her lunch period with at-risk students to help increase the promotion rate. She has also given up her planning period to teach a class that allows students to participate in NASA e-Missions, and for 2 years she helped coordinate field trips to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, for which students travel to the museum via air. Rebecca has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Fairmont State University with certifications in elementary education and science. She is National Board Certified in early adolescent science.
