Sandra Bradshaw has been an educator for 35 years, teaching at Midway Elementary School for the past 15 years. She currently teaches kindergarten through fifth grade STEM classes in a science lab setting. Previously, Sandra taught fourth grade, piloted a gifted program, and served as a Science Specialist. Sandra utilizes a problem-based learning approach to engage students in inquiry and real-world problem solving. In her classroom, she facilitates learning and encourages students to collaborate and communicate to solve problems or make scientific discoveries. In 2009, Sandra piloted an elementary STEM curriculum for Project Lead the Way. She brought its newest curriculum, Launch, to her students and became a Launch master teacher four years ago. She now travels during the summer, training others. Most recently, Sandra was nominated for the Project Lead the Way National Teacher of the Year. Sandra has led professional development sessions at the school and district level, presented at state and national conferences, and served on district and state science leadership teams. She was also selected to be a Mickelson ExxonMobil Science Teacher. Sandra earned a B.A., magna cum laude, in elementary education and a M.Ed. in elementary education from Clemson University. She is a National Board Certified Middle Childhood Generalist and is also endorsed to teach gifted students.
