Q: I am receiving a Server error when trying to access file downloads, how do I resolve this issue?
A: Our IT team is currently working on a permanent solution, but in the meantime, we recommend the following workarounds:
1.) Use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
2.) Update Microsoft Edge settings and turn off the option to "Open Office files in the browser."
Q: How should I format my addendum? What font and font sizes should I use?
A: There is no formatting requirement for either of the addendums other than compliance with the 9000 characters for the Narrative addendum and the two-page maximum for the Supplemental Materials addendum. You may use any font and font size you deem appropriate, as long as it can be easily read by the reviewers.
Q: What should I do if state/jurisdiction reviewers did not provide recommendations for improvement in the reviews?
A: The addendum was added to the application process to allow applicants the opportunity to respond to state-level feedback to strengthen their application. If you did not receive actionable feedback, we still recommend reviewing your application or having a mentor review it and identify ways to improve your submission. You may want to include items you could not initially include within the narrative or the 5-page supplemental material submission. You may also include additional letters of support, additional examples of your work external to the classroom, or anything else to further strengthen your application.
Q: What can I not include within the addendum?
A: The addendum may not include videos or links.
Q:
The way that the Classroom Video saved, it is in two pieces. I am struggling to upload both pieces as it
only accepts the first of the two videos. How can I do this?
A: PAEMST only allows you to upload one video thus you will have to combine the two parts of your video with a video editing software of your choosing. We do not promote one particular software, but in the past applicants have had success with platforms like iMovie or Adobe Video Editors.
Q: I have a new principal. Can I ask an old principal to write recommendation letter #1 for me?
A: Letter #1 must come from the applicant’s principal or instructional supervisor. The principal or instructional
supervisor has the option to defer the letter to a different recommender as long as that individual has direct
supervisory responsibility for the applicant. The current principal must get the request first.
Q:
Is there a way to see
previous Applicant Webinars?
A: Yes! To view previous webinar recordings log into your applicant
portal and locate the tab “Tools and Resources.” From there, you will find a plethora
of application resources including all our past webinars. Let us know If you
have any issues.
Q: What application cycle is happening currently?
A:
The next application cycle will accept K-6 applications. The application cycle will open Fall 2025.
